COVID-19 catapaulted telehealth and telemedine into our lives. This is especially true for psychiatry. However, there are lots of issues occuring with telemedicine and overprescribing controlled medication online in psychiatry. Psych NPs that took remote positions have several things to consider now that restrictions are rightening up again.

1) What are the current regulations on the NP license regarding prescribing controlled medications? If you decide to practice the DMV you will likely see referrals from all three regions. Do you have to have a DEA in every state that you prescribe?

2) Explain to the class the requirement of obtaining autonomous practice in the state of Virginia.
