Covid-19 has had a devastating effect on international business activities. At the same time, it has led to some global sales agreements that are unprecedented in size and complexity. One such agreement is "Advance Purchase Agreement for the Production, Purchase and Supply of a Covid-19 Vaccine in the European Union (APA)" concluded between the EU Commission and AstraZeneca in August 2020, a sales contract between 29 parties from 27 different states. Such contracts pose a serious legal challenge for the applicability of the CISG.
