Crane describes a Turing machine that adds 1 to a number using a tally type of encoding (e.g., 11111). You are also able to add 1 to a number! Compare and contrast these two cases of computation. Your answer should include all of the following words: function, algorithm, argument, value, representation, and implementation. You do not need to know how people actually perform mental arithmetic, but you should understand enough to compare and contrast with what Cranes description of a Turing Machine does.
