Crashing - will be depended on adding additional resources to the project for the least incremental cost possible. In the real world often, a client will request crashing or acceleration of a programme with costs as a last option. Where the time objective is greater than the cost objective of a project. Accelerating the programme does generate more resources than initially planned as the time/resource equation is now unbalanced and costs builders substantially more, often because overtime and weekends now become working days to achieve the accelerated programme which are charged out a premium rate (not a normal- time rate). This also erases project float and places increased pressure on every team member. Remember the critical trades are the ones that influence the overall project completion. So, there is no reason to fast track or crash any activities that are not on the critical path - as it will not gain any additional time on your overall schedule, if you cannot condense your critical path
