Create a disagreeable or agreeable response to the following post. Must used a peer review article to support response. I am sure that many have experienced test anxiety in one shape or another. I personally have this issue and find it essential that the construct being measured is "testing ability." there are a few things that can be done to help those of us with testing anxiety, and it goes back to the developmental phases of early childhood. We, as young as the age of one, are tested to see if we have anything "wrong" with ourselves by doctors. With the simple understanding of negative feedback at such a young age, a person is made out to feel negative towards any kind of testing as they develop into adults. Growing up, I was pushed to have above-average grades and punished when I didn't come back with any other grade unless it was above average. To do this, I had to score high on tests which I often struggled with due to what I now know as testing anxiety.
Many studies observe the levels of stress and anxiety when children are tested compared to the grades they receive. Escalera- Chaves(2019) found that students with higher stress and anxiety are scoring worse on their exams. With this, I find it important to pinpoint the actual cause of the stress or anxiety. Other variables could include something going on at home or school, just finishing taking another exam in another class, and the possibility of not understanding the subject at hand. For a person with testing anxiety, tests should be made a bit more relaxing and not as stressful to avoid creating any more stress a child may be dealing with. I believe that my first error in testing would be trait errors. I say this because, as explained by Given that I am already a weaker test taker due to my inability to take tests correctly, I believe that my second-guessing nature of answers is a method error. Lastly, I also deal with scoring method errors due to testing anxiety. I know the information I am being tested on but most often, when a test is given to me it can not depict my actual level of understanding of the subject.
