Create Table of Entities and Activities and context diagram
Customers mail checks and remittance advices which are received by the mailroom clerk at Turbo Corporation. The mailroom clerk endorses the checks. At the end of the day, the mailroom clerk prepares a batch total of the remittance advices. The mailroom clerk sends the batch of remittance advices to the accounts receivable clerk and sends the corresponding batch of checks to the cashier
The accounts receivable clerk keys the batch total, the customer number, the invoice number, the amount paid, and the check number into the computer. The computer creates a cash receipts transactions file. Using the data on the cash receipts transactions file, the computer verifies that the invoice is open and that the correct amount is being paid. The computer then updates the accounts receivable master file. The computer creates a cash receipts listing and summary of customer accounts paid from the data on the cash receipts transactions file. The computer sends the cash receipts listing and the summary of accounts paid to the accounts receivable clerk. The accounts receivable clerk compares these reports to the remittance advices and batch totals. The accounts receivable clerk sends the cash receipts listing to the general ledger office.
At the end of each batch, the computer prints a deposit slip in duplicate and sends the deposit slip and duplicate to cashiers office. The cashier compares the deposit slip to the corresponding batch of checks. The cashier takes the deposit to the bank.
