Create the ultimate stock portfolio using the following information:

  1. Your total investment will be $50,000.
  2. Select 4 or 5 publicly traded stocks.
  3. Determine the Beta of each stock, and the dollar amount you will invest in each stock.
  4. Determine the weight of each stock by dividing the amount of each investment by the total of $50,000.
  5. Determine the Beta of the Portfolio, by multiplying each individual stock beta by the individual weights calculated in step 4 and sum them. The total should be a decimal answer.
  6. Compare your answer in step 5 to a market beta of 1.0. Is your portfolio more or less risky than the market?

Demonstrate the work behind your calculations and present your findings in a written format.
