Critical Legal Thinking: I believe Congress does in fact use its "veto power" over the U.S. Supreme Court's interpretation of a federal statue by enacting another statute to change the result of a Supreme Court's decision. Congress (and the Supreme Court, for that matter) is no stranger to bending the rules to meet their wants and needs. When doing so, rarely do they listen to the voice of the people they have been elected to represent. In this case, they did not get the results they wanted so they changed the wording and rules of the law in hopes of getting the answer they wanted. Originally, the law stated "causes actual harm". There was a reason for this. This would prevent people and companies from making frivolous law suits that were meaningless and time- consuming and would prevent others from going into or staying in business. However, when there was no actual harm done to Victoria's Secret, Congress decided to "tweak" the wording of the law to best meet the needs of their desires
