Critical thinking is analyzing a subject or topic that has been seen or information that has been gathered in some sort of way (Hitchcock,2018). Is critical thinking important? Yes, critical thinking is very important in certain situations, careers, or even when making decisions. Critical thinking could also work against an individual though in a negative way as you may have heard the term, "I am over analytical" or "I overthink situations all the time". Being a very analytical person can be good in some scenarios and bad in others. The mind is a very strong part of the human body and often what you think or are having thoughts about can become a reality. For example, if you are not confident lifting a certain weight or object but you know you have done it before, it can cause your body to respond to that thought and in fact, that object will be much heavier than it was the time you were confident in lifting it. In some cases, individuals fall victim to psyching themselves out of a certain situation that they can do, also called giving up before you even start the task or goal at hand.

So, we know that our minds are powerful weapons and confidence internally can make us perform ten times better than we would perform without any doubt. Critical thinking is important, especially in job fields that require employees to be detail oriented or pay close attention to detail, also critical thinking can make a difference in an outcome of a situation going completely wrong because we didn't simply think before we spoke. Critical thinking could help us avoid unwanted situations by thinking over our consequences and the different results of whichever option we decide to go with. Critical thinking is looked at as a Philosophy because it can develop and mold students into the person they become in the future. Philosophy in short is the study of knowledge, existence, and reality and is also a very strict study.
