Cruise intends to launch an autonomous, EV ridehail service in San Francisco. We would like tohear some of your perspectives on a few key components of our Commercial Operationsstrategy:

1. Operations:To launch a driverless ridehail service of ~5,000 AVs in a given market,what activities, facilities, and other operational considerations are needed in support ofthe fleet? How would you think about Cruise's overall facility and labor strategyunderlying our Operations?
2. Downtime:Building on some of the operational activities from the previous question, we would like to know the expected average downtime an autonomous vehicle will experience in a 24-hour day. In particular:
   1. What are the key 'downtime' activities? How much time do you expect each of these key downtime activities to take per vehicle per day?
   2. How much downtime will a typical vehicle experience a day on average? Build a model to estimate the average vehicle downtime per day in Excel or Google Sheets. Document all assumptions and explain your work. Here are some starting assumptions to guide your work:
      1. Vehicle is 100% electric, with a range of 200 miles
      2. Battery is 60 kWh and the charge rate is 60 kW, meaning 1h for a full charge
3. New Technology Evaluation: Suppose Cruise is evaluating a new technology that will increase the lifetime of the supercomputer that powers our AV sensor suite.
   1. What should Cruise consider when evaluating this new technology?
   2. Build a model that shows the value of this new technology. How sensitive is your model to the increase in expected lifetime (i.e. 10%, 25%, 50% life increase)? Make the following assumptions:
      1. The current supercomputer has a 3-year expected life.
      2. It takes 2 hours to replace the current supercomputer, 3 hours to replace with the new technology.
      3. Labor cost is $50/hour
      4. Clearly state any other assumptions you make
