According to our textbook, The United States has been a leader in developing and implementing information security legislation. The United States has a solid body of legislation related to privacy and security. Some of the most important laws include the following: Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) (2002), Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) (2014), Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA), Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

In this paper, you will explore the current legislation status in countries in North America that isnt the United States. You will identify existing legislation (laws) and compare it to equivalent legislation in the U.S.

In your conclusion, summarize the similarities and differences in the legislation development in the U.S. and the region you selected. Identify any future challenges and trends.
