Cybersecurity news is dominated by events such as the compromise of personal data (Veterans Administration and OPM) or by financial loss (Home Depot, Target, etc.). However, this course focuses on something much larger in scope and impact -- infrastructures. Based upon the eye-opening Introduction (please read) and first chapter of Cyber War by Clarke, we are privy to the real-world beginning of the "use of information technology and the Internet as a weapon." How do you view this evolving threat? Is it as serious as Clarke intimates? If so why? If not why? How could Cyber be an actual 'weapon' to be used by nation-states or organized crime or terrorists?
