Daisy was a professional dog walker who lived in Newtown and was well known amongst the community. She would be kept quite busy with daily bookings to walk the dogs of Newtown. As her requests increased, her boyfriend Rob recommended that she offer her customers a "walk-and-wash" option whereby the dogs were walked and at the end of the walk provided with a wash which would be carried out by Rob. Rob went to buy a dog groomers starter wagon and Daisy commenced offering this service as part of her existing dog walking business. As time passed, the requests for dog walking increased and the "walk-and-wash" option was not a very high priority given dogs don't need to be washed as regularly as they need to be walked.

After several months, Daisy and Rob broke up and Rob moved out of their jointly leased apartment. Rob became bitter after discovering that Daisy started dating one of her clients who was a rich and successful surgeon at St Vincent's Hospital shortly after their split.

In a bitter effort to anger Daisy, Rob sent Daisy a Letter of Demand requesting that she contribute to the losses of the dog wash arm of her business and demanded that she was required to do this because they were business partners. Daisy was confused and was unaware Rob thought they were business partners.

Advise Daisy as to whether she owes Rob money and whether Rob can claim that they were in a business partnership.
