Danielle and Andrew own a home together as joint tenants with a right of survivorship. They purchased this house two years ago for $800,000. They each contributed $100,000 to the purchase price ($200,000 total) and are joint and severally liable on the mortgage. Danielle was married for 15 years to Tommy Trinh and has one daughter Samantha (age 40). Danielle and Tommy have been divorced for 30 years. Danielle has her wedding rings from her marriage to Tommy. They are worth $55,000. She would like them to go to Samantha. She leaves them locked up in the bank safety deposit box. Samantha is married to Peter (age 39) and has two children of her own, Andre (age 16) and Pierre (age 14).
