7. (2 points) Suppose you were chatting with a friend and they said that average time OSU students spend on schoolwork is well over 40 hours a week. If you assume that ST 351 students in this data set represent all OSU students with respect to time spent on schoolwork, which could be argued, use the information from the questions above to comment on whether you agree or disagree with this friend. Let's include another variable at this point in the assignment. 8. (4 points) Suppose you are interested in determining if there is a different in the average time students spend on schoolwork between those who live on campus and those who live off campus. Create a side-by-side boxplot and obtain summary statistics. Include the graph at this point in the assignment. Create a nice looking table to display the summary statistics for both groups. 9. (2 points) Using the information obtained in question 8, discuss whether or not you believe there is a true difference in the average time OSU students living on and off campus spend on school work. You can assume that students taking this survey are representative of all OSU students, although I believe that could be reasonably argued. Problem 2 - Summarizing Categorical Data We will switch gears a little at this point and consider two categorical variables. 10. (2 points) For this section, consider the two variables game and social. As a reminder, the two variables correspond to the two questions: game = Choose the scenario that best describes your electronic game preference. "I prefer to play games on a social = True or False: "I have a profile on a social networking website." Example: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn.. etc Create a table of percentages as was done in Week 4 Lab Activity using gome as the response variable and social as the explanatory. Please create a nice looking table within your word processor to report the percentages in. Do not copy and paste output directly from the Console window. 11. (3 points) Create a side-by-side bar chart of the variables game and social. Be sure include proper labels for the axes and a legend. The y-axis must show percentages and not counts. Include the graph at this point in the assignment. 12. (3 points) Using the results from question 10 and 11, comment on whether you believe there is a difference in the distribution of gaming preference between those who have a social networking site and those who do not. Be sure to describe what aspects of the graph and summery measures you are using to draw this conclusion. 13. (2 points) At this point in your assignment, copy all of the code used for this assignment in the Script window and paste them Into this assignment here
