Project Case Study:

You have been assigned to create a database for a client who has a need for data collection using a relational database.

Project Scope:

Your assignment is finding a client or situation that would benefit from data collection using all the Access objects. You may pick an actual real-life situation or apply the concept to a general situation, however, keep in mind you will be using your project plan to create a database in your Final Project at the end of the semester so a situation with actual data would make your Final Project easier to complete.

Step 1:

Develop a list of questions that you would need answers to create your entities (tables) and attributes(fields) (What you would need from your client)

Step 2:

Determine what information may already exist that you could export to Access and what might you need to capture from scratch in a form.

Step 3:

Determine what Reports would be helpful to create from your data

Step 4:

Determine what Querys you would need to create the reports.

Step 5:

Document this process in a Project Plan or Word template of your choice. The plan should include all information you would need to gather and all the steps you would need to complete to build this database. It should also include the relationships you would need between tables to produce your desired outcomes and what fields might you use as primary keys in your tables.
