Dear Leanette, Thank you for thinking of me to head the project of diversity at Lakeland Medical Center. It is with regret to see that 75% of our employees have concerns of diversity issues, work place incivility and poor work-life balance. I will take this opportunity and focus on diversity issues. One individual in the nursing field who would be an excellent teacher on diversity is Dr. Beverly Malone. Dr. Malone is a highly respected nurse leader, educator, and advocate for diversity and inclusion in healthcare. "She has made significant contributions to the nursing profession and has been a vocal proponent of promoting diversity, equity, ethical principles, and cultural competence among healthcare professionals." (American Psychology Association, 2018) Dr. Malone uses Transformational Leadership when heading group projects with her team. "Transformational Leadership focuses on inspiring and motivating team members to achieve a common goal through charisma and vision. Charisma possesses a certain presence, charm, and confidence that motivate their followers. This quality can attract followers, build strong relationships, and create a sense of enthusiasm within their team members. To have vision you are forward-thinking and able to adapt to changing circumstances in order to achieve their goal."
