Dear Tutor,

I would like to ask about my assignment problem i am studying FIN 640 Investment Portfolio & Analysis at SNHU and the week one assignment I am not sure on how to do it. it is an online class so I dont have a chance to learn the lesson properly and I am also very new to this area.

The assignment is to calculate the rates of return for each of the securities listed ( based on historical data of five years back) the portfolio and compare the performance using the S&P 500 as a benchmark. And, Once we have calculated the rates of return for these securities, briefly explain the risk/return relationship for each security.the companies to focus on are followings:

Apple, Inc. (AAPL) Caterpillar (CAT) Consolidated Edison (ED) Northern Trust (NTRS) Macy's (M)

Please help me I am going to fail this class and my deadline is tonight :(
