This is going to be a fun project. Pick something from your personal or professional life, or make something up, and develop a WEIGHTED scoring model to judge your options. Get creative. Be fun. 1. Map out your project to the group. 2. Three Alternatives - Explain the alternatives you are evaluating - 3 at least (ex: Project 1, Project 2, Project 3) 3. Five Criteria - Then pick at least five criteria that you will be using to evaluate the projects against 4. Explain each of the criteria and provide a % you will use for those criteria. 5. Attach a spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel s format) with your solution and graphs. Here is my example - note that you need to explain with your example. I have only outlined the rough framework for my example. Project - Planning a birthday party for a friend at a restaurant. My friend is turning 50 and has many friends, relatives, and a small group of very close friends. No other events are planned for this person, so this may be the only event. Alternatives - A Invite a very small number of people, and I will pay for everyone. B. Invite a large group and collect money at a set amount in advance. C. Invite a mid-size group and divide the bill when it arrives at the table. Criteria 1. What will be the easiest for me regarding planning and coordinating (including money collection) 2. What will cost me the least 3. What will my friend like the best 4. Based on our group size, what level of "fancy" or "nice" is the restaurant in our area that can accommodate the group size? (I know that the best restaurant can only hold small groups, and that is my friend's favorite place) 5. Risk of "leaving" out people and if they will be upset. Sample SPREAD SHEET - you can use my format, but please make sure it makes sense for your project. So collecting money is hard, so paying all myself is easy so it gets 15 a high score leaving people out. With a small group I will be leaving people 167 out, so that gets a low score 1 18_ - Sheet'l g 4 > Ready 1?, a | + 10096
