Decision Making Scenario One: Policy Writing
Your group has just been given a major assignment in Policy Development due in 10 days. The assignment is very important for successful completion of one of your major courses and will be available to prospective employers as part of each of your portfolios when you begin to look for employment. The assignment has multiple parts and all parts are complex and require extensive research.
Professors in your Program have also assigned group projects which are due two days before for one assignment and two days after for the other assignment, and these assignments are key to a passing mark in those courses as well. In the past other professors have not been very willing to change their assignment schedules.
One of the members of your group has just received word that their mother is quite ill and they are worried about how their parent is getting along. They cant visit because of the distance. Another students knowledge of the language is somewhat limited but they are trying to improve. Another member of group is located in a geographic area where the internet is not stable. All of your meetings need to be on-line because of distance and the unstable internet means sometimes tis group member is dropped in the middle of call. Another member of your group has developed policy for a former employer. Several group members also work part-time and need the hours to support themselves.
How will your group meet this challenge and make a decision about solving this dilemma? Please provide references for the work. Each Group will be provided with a decision-making scenario. Applying your understanding and knowledge of how to make effective decisions, select a decision-making method/model as presented in class and apply your choice of method to your scenario or decision problem. All participants must be involved. The following questions may be of value to your group in developing your paper, and you may think of other questions to help you in addition to the ones below.
