Eminent domain is the ability of a legal public body such as a federal, state or local government to take private land, while giving compensation to the owner or owners of the land, for public purposes. Eminent domain is also known ascondemnation. This can be done without the land owner's consent, so the owner of the property has to deal with it while being given compensation if a legal body such as any part of the government wishing to use the land for any public use that the government wishes to use it for.

Adverse Possession is when a person that has land that is owned by someone else may get the title to the land. As long as there are common laws that have been met the adverse posser. They cannot own it for a long period because it does not belong to them. But they can last as small as three years or as long as 20 years. An example I can give you in this is People that have adverse possession you would be able to use the private road that your friend or family member-owned to get to the place that you are trying to get to.
