Defined a social media policy (in three or four paragraphs). What are social media policies used for? What are some of their main components? Outline and highlight two examples of social media policies by brand, nonprofit agency

Social media policy is in place for businesses to ensure that employees know what is acceptable and what is not in social media channels (Facebook, Twitter.) these policies created by employers outline how their staff should conduct themselves on the internet, during work hours and when off-duty.

A social media policy outlines how an organization and its employees should conduct themselves via the web. It helps protect my company's online reputation and encourages employees to share about the company in their online networks.

Provide a brief overview (in two or three paragraphs) of the client you will focus on for this social media policy.

I can develop clear expectations for online interactions and social media engagement. That can protect staff members and the company brand from negative perceptions. These are some other benefits of writing an effective social media policy:

Define my company brand

Improve diversity efforts

Avoid security breaches

Create contingency plans

Explain responsibilities

State the client's use of social media (in two or three paragraphs). Does the client have a social media policy? If so, does it need to be update? Make sure to provide your rationale for where the client is at currently

Social Media Policies are essential for any company to ensure they are not liable for any personal posts that may be linked to their brand image. To establish a social media Policy, I need to remember to keep it " Short, Simple, and Clear " and represent the three R's: Respect, Responsibly, and Representation. Keeping these in mind when creating a policy will allow me to be direct and to the point with employees on how they are to associate with the brand on social media.

Propose a social media policy for the client (two-page max). outline the key activates and characteristic you would recommend the client follow the client follow. Discuss also how will be implemented, reported, and analyzed in terms of whether or not it was successful.

Adidas social media Policy

 1. Employees can associate themselves with the company when posting, but they must brand their online posts as personal and purely their own. The company should not be held liable for any repercussions the employees ' content may generate.

2. Content about sensitive company information (particularly those found within Adidas's internal networks) should not be shared with the outside online community. Divulging information like the company's design plans, internal operations, and legal matters is prohibited.

3. Proper copyright and reference laws should be observed by employees when posting online.

 Best Buy's Media Policy

1. Best Buy mandates employees to freely disclose their affiliation with the company, granted that disclaimers are set freeing the company from any intellectual investment in the post.

2. Dishonorable content such as racial, ethnic, sexual, religious, and physical disability slurs are not tolerated.

3. Employees are not allowed to disclose financial, operational, and legal information, as well as any information that pertains to clients and customers.

HP's Blogging Code of Conduct

1. HP promotes healthy and honest discourse with its readers.

 2. The company reserves the right to edit or amend any misleading or inaccurate content depicted in blog posts. The company also reserves the right to delete blog posts violating the code of conduct.

3. HP values, respects, and upholds the intellectual property rights of its bloggers.

Of the above examples of the company's Social Media policies, Adidas has the most direct and concise Policy, which is why the company should model theirs based on Adidas. When discussing the social media Policy, the more straightforward you are, the less liable I will be if, for whatever reason, sensitive information is leaked by an employee. Stating that employees are allowed to associate themselves with the company online; however, these posts need to be made clear by the employee for their personal use and that any sensitive company information should not be shared. The clearer the Policy while still remembering to include the key elements (3 R's), the better for everyone involved.
