Delegating tasks to employees is an effective tool for business success. Let's say you're slammed at work. Your desk is overflowing with tasks, projects, and assignments with deadlines looming right around the corner. Suddenly, you have a ''lightbulb moment:'' You can delegate some of this work to your competent staff members! In this lesson, we will utilize 6 key steps to effective delegation and apply them in a real life case study.

The six key steps are planning ahead, delegating, establishing awareness, gauging commitment, coaching, and accountability.

This is the task: You are responsible for coordinating your company's end of the year party. You have 4 competent key staff members to assist you in carrying out this task. Using the six key steps, devise a plan on how you will delegate tasks to your team members. What will you plan ahead, how and who will you delegate to, how will you make staff aware, how will you ensure commitment, what methods will you use to coach your team members, and how will you enforce accountability. An outline will be attached that can be used as an outline for this assignment.
