Your client, Universal Widgets, is planning to implement a cloud-based solution for their IoT(Internet of Things) connected devices. These devices are designed to monitor air quality in a home for the homeowner's heating and air system. These devices also are able to detect the carbon dioxide levels, presence of smoke, and notify homeowner's when to change the air filters. The current solution is monitoring done by an internal 24x7 security monitoring center. With the advent of new big-data tools and better analytics, the need for a human monitoring center has become less important. Also, there is an increasing demand for a web-based app that will send notifications to the customer and others specified by the customer, reducing the need for on-site monitoring of the security center. Instructions Universal Widgets is skeptical of web-based applications, and is more familiar with purchasing the servers and adding an additional full-time IT professional to the organization at a budgeted cost of $75,000 for this maintenance. You have been tasked with creating a project plan document that will detail the following elements: Determine the appropriate cloud-based solution for Universal Widgets' need (Iaas, SaaS, and PaaS) and include the rationale for this decision. Perform the necessary research to determine the total costs for this solution over 3-years. Compare the implementation cost of a physical server(s) to meet the requirements detailed above including the cost of an IT professional at a cost of $75,000 per year to the 3-year cost for the appropriate cloud-based solution. Include a UML diagram that demonstrates the connectivity between the existing infrastructure and the cloud-based tools for the board members to review.
