Week 2: Check-In Area One: Record Keeping and Parent Communication

• Due by the end of Week 2 at 11:59 pm, ET.

During the accrediting body's previous visit, your center was found to have a deficiency in Record Keeping and Parent Communication. Notably, the findings of the report were as follows:

• In the two-year-old room, it was observed that a child was diagnosed with pink eye (conjunctivitis) but parents were not notified
• In the infant room, it was found that some diaper changings and feedings during the PM shift had not been recorded in the journals
• In the three-year-old room, it was found that some children who were in need of new toothbrushes had not had their families notified to provide the item

Using the documentation template (provided in Appendix A on page 10 of this document), compose a report of at least 500 words that directly explains and justifies the best practice steps your center will take to address these parent communication issues.
