Demonstrate setting a S.M.A.R.T. goal and identify resources to help you achieve your goal.
Directions
1.Select one aspect of yourself that you would like to develop while you are in college (academic, interpersonal, physical, spiritual, etc.) Select one that is personally meaningful and is key to you becoming the person you want to be as a college graduate. For example, an aspect of yourself that you may want to develop is to be a good leader so you can get a job in management.
Respond to the following questions:
- Turn that aspect into a S.M.A.R.T. goal (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely).
- What strengths do you have that can help you progress toward your goal?
- What internal/external roadblocks or obstacles could keep you from accomplishing your goal?
- How can you use your strengths to overcome those roadblocks/obstacles?
- What College resources or people in your life can help you reach your goal?
2. Read the posts of your classmates and respond to at least two. Is their goal specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely? Can you relate to their roadblocks or obstacles? Can you suggest additional College or other resources that may help them reach their goal?
