Demonstrate that you can use industry standard software to create a simple, professionally edited network diagram. Description: Network administrators use a variety of programs, some for design and some for administration. We have used Visio, but this is not the only software package in use across the industry. Other software packages have more features than Visio as well. Ciscos Packet Tracer software allows us to create basic network diagrams, but also to create device configurations and even to simulate our environment. We will create a simple network diagram using this tool Assignment: Create a new diagram in Packet Tracer Create the network design implemented in CoB room 310 based upon Figure 1 & 2 below o NOTE: The Packet Tracer software is installed on all COB lab computers, it is not installed anywhere else on campus o NOTE: You must use your username and password for Ciscos Networking Academy you created along with Homework assignment 1 o Use the following devices in your diagram: For switches [Network Devices] [Switches] 2960 For Raspberry Pis [End Devices] PC For servers [End Devices] Server For Wi-fi access point [Network Devices] [Wireless Devices] WRT300N For connections [Connections] solid black line o Add the device labels and MAC addresses as shown below in Figure 1 o Align all devices and remove extraneous ethernet connections resulting in a neat and professional level network diagram o Add all device connections as shown below in Figure 2 Connect the FastEthernet ports on the computers and servers to the switches Connect the GigabitEthernet ports on the switches to the WAN cloud Helpful hint: Youll need to Create New Link on the WAN cloud for each of the 3 switch connections Helpful hint: Dont worry about the red connection statuses between the switch devices and the WAN cloud, this is expected behavior Connect the Internet ports on the Wi-fi access points to a FastEthernet port on its respective switch
