Scripture offers us a twofold account of the creation of man, the one in Genesis 1:26,27, and the other in Genesis 2:7, 21-23. The first narrative contains the account of the creation of all things in the order in which it occurred, while the second groups things in their relation to man, without implying anything respecting the chronological order of man's appearance in the creative work of God and clearly indicating that everything preceding it served to compose fit habitation for man as the king of creation. Man was distinct from the rest of creation in numerous ways: Man was preceded by a solemn divine counsel (the council of God, the triune, is revealed in the words, 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness" Gen.1:26), he was an immediate act of God, man was created after a divine group and not lower (the fishes, birds, and beasts were created by God "after their kind"(1:21), that is, on a typical form of their own), two elements of human nature are distinguished (man's body was made from dust, but his soul was breathed into by Jehovah), and man is placed in an exalted creation. Attempts to overthrow God's narrative of creation have occurred, the most notorious being the theory of Evolution. This theory states that man descended from the lower animals, body and soul, by a perfectly natural process, controlled entirely by inherent forces. This theory insists on that which is contrary to the Bible when it is nothing more but an unproved working hypothesis, and a hypothesis that has not yet given any great promise of success in demonstrating what is set out to prove. Despite the workings of Charles Darwin and other highly esteemed scientists, this theory has lacked progress. Even Alexander Fleming, says: "All that science can say at present in the light of ascertained and limited human knowledge is that it does not know, and has no certain proof of how, where, and when man was originated. If any true knowledge of it is to come to us, it must come from some source other than present modern anthropology." (p. 144-150)
