Department of Transportation analysts in a large, urban city observed traffic patterns and compiled statistics over a six-month period. The analysts reported that preference for driving over use of public transportation varies depending on the day of the week. The analysts observed a higher number of cars on the road, in addition to a higher number of traffic accidents, on Fridays between the hours of 6am-9am and 4pm-7pm.
