Describe how you have prepared for your intended major, including your readiness to succeed in your upper-division courses once you enroll at the University:

When I was first prompted to choose a major during and after college, the first thought that came to my mind was money, and I saw it every day. As cheesy as it may seem, I've been interested in it since I was a teenager. When I spent cash on things I needed, when I followed the news of our economy, I was always interested in who determined the price of products, where those goods came from, and why people asked to buy those things. I am fascinated by the wide flow of cash, where individuals spend their money, and why they spend it. Money brings me closer to understanding what I'm curious about.

Currency has brought me closer to understanding what I am curious about. I have prepared for my degree by enrolling in all the prerequisite courses for the economics major. I also organized internships outside of the classroom so that I could gain real-world experience in my field. These experiences have equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the study of economics. Throughout my internship, I was involved in data collection on the growth of our economy and how people of different races affect it.

My research exposed me to many real-world examples that were more vivid and enlightening than anything I had learned in the classroom. I have always believed that learning from textbooks is only the bare minimum and that learning is more interesting and useful when we apply it to real-world situations. I decided to accept the invitation to attend seminars and I went to many seminars that were categorized as professional, business, and financial gatherings. There, I had the option to meet and interact with representatives from many co-ops who sought my advice, reviewed resumes, and shared details about their personal lives, such as the reasons they chose their profession and career and how they met. The more I discovered, the more I wanted to enroll in a college degree that would expose me to a larger and broader world.
