The operation of the school's semester credit registration management system is described as follows: When students want to register for a class, students must submit a registration form with full information about their full name, registration number, and class code. The system checks if each registered class is still accepting students by looking up the Class List file. The data in this file shows which classes are still accepting students, which have been canceled, and which are full. From there the system can determine which of the student's choices are accepted and which are rejected. Accepted students will be enrolled in the classes for which they are registered. The names and ID numbers of these students will be updated in the Class List file and class sizes will be recalculated. If the class is full, the class code will be marked as closed. New student data and any changes or additions made to existing students during this enrollment process are also updated in the schoolwide Common Student Profile file. Finally, the system will send each registered student a message listing the classes they have signed up for and ticking the classes they are accepted to.
