Describe yourself as a counselor and your vision of counseling. 1) Include personal background, 2) how the development of counseling skills may be helpful to you personally, 3) your beliefs about counseling, 4) how/why people change, plus 5) your counseling experiences. Do not make this a recitation of facts, rather try to convey your enthusiasm about why you want to be a counselor (and/ or how you plan to use these skills) and what experiences and strengths, as well as areas of growth you bring to working with clients.
