Describing the situation: A few months ago, a big stock company lost a special supervisor. The company went without this position being filled for about 2 1/2 months, right around when the quarter was ending came in the new supervisor. The employees were mostly made up of men, when the new supervisor was introduced, most of the employees were immediately not impressed as she was a woman. They would not listen to her tips and instructions. The supervisor quickly became short tempered with this behavior. The work environment quickly became hostile and work production decreased within the first few weeks of her starting date. The perspective of the employees: It was nearly the male employees who had an issue with this new supervisor, the previous supervisor, and the certain employees seem to have a close bond, which is where this initial issue may have started. The employees found out that this new supervisor only has a year and a half experience unlike their previous one which made them skeptical on whether or not if she could do the job correctly. every time the new supervisor would give her input and tried to assemble a new technique.
