This assessment task is being given as a role play task in which you and one of your classmates will play therolesofaclient andabusinessconsultant,respectively.Thisassessmenttaskleadstothefinalprojectforthisunit.Youwillberequired tomaintainaprojectfolder toensurethatyouhavealltherequiredinformationforthistaskaswellasthefinalproject.

Boththemembersoftheteamwillbeassessedinthistask. Youwillberequiredtoplayboththegivenroles-beingaclientforanotherstudent andbeingabusinessconsultantforowntask.

Step1:

Conceive a business profile (Client): The client will need to conceive and develop a basic business profile(maximum1pagelong)thatoutlines businesstype,size,industryandkeybusiness operations.Youcantakeanexample from your own organization or base it on any other organisation with appropriate referencing andacknowledgements. The client will send the profile to the system developer and organise a meeting. Meetingschedule should be decided in consultation with your trainer/assessor as the meeting will take place duringweeklysessions.

The use of software meansthat its consultants are able to quickly evaluate the available options/products and suggest the best possibleproduct/solution to their clients. Identify Administrative Requirements: Based on the discussion and information provided, the businessconsultant (you) will conduct a brief need analysis and prepare a proposal for the client, identifyingadministrativesystemrequirements,andsuggestingappropriatesolutions.Yourproposalwouldinclude;

  • Summary/minutesofthemeeting
  • Overviewofcurrentbusinessoperations
  • Recommendedadministrativesystems
  • Keyfeaturesofthesystem
  • Keyvendorsandapproximatecosts(researchandcompiletheinfo)
