Design Use case diagram: Customers, who have downloaded the MO e CART app, can order groceries etc. by choosing one or more stores within Melbourne

Design Use case diagram:

  1. Customers, who have downloaded the MOeCART app, can order groceries etc. by choosing one or more stores within Melbourne (within three suburbs next to the customer). They can even order from a desktop or laptop using the web based interface.
  2. A customer browses for a store or a product in MOe Option to shop from any of the available stores in their area (within three suburbs). One can place order by combining items from different stores. For example, they can buy a dozen of egg either from Coles or Woolworths or any participating seller. If a product is offered by more than one seller, the app can suggest cheaper option(s).
  3. After selecting the products and quantity etc., the customer places his order after paying online through and to MOe The bill is the total amount payable to the stores + MOeCART's service fee (including the delivery) + any tip (if applicable) + GST.
  4. Customers can schedule orders for a specific day and time. They can select their home address (used during signing up the account) or to another address to deliver the produces.
  5. A "shopper"/purchaser (the person who shops on behalf of the customer and delivers and signed up as a 'shopper') receives the order from the app (like Uber drivers receive a job). They can do the same from a desktop or laptop using a web based interface. You can propose/decide how a shopper can be assigned for an order. The shopper starts collecting items as mentioned in the order. They pick up the ordered items manually and deliver it to the customer. Shopper pays the bill through MOeCART's prepaid debit card, which is accepted at the participating stores. You can suggest how we can restrict the shoppers not to use the card for their personal shopping (i.e., which is not an order received through MOeCART). Finally, the shopper delivers the groceries to the customer as per the address mentioned in the order.
  6. Any tip paid to a shopper is added to the payment profile of the shopper, which is accumulated to be paid in fortnightly, along with the salary. The salary is calculated on the basis of number of factors including total number of individual sellers, distance from the shopper to the delivery address, time of a day (morning, noon, afternoon, and night; weekdays and weekends, public holidays, etc.) Additionally, they may receive tip from customers.
  7. MOeCART's service fee - an order processed above the value of $35 attracts a standard delivery fee of:

$4.99 for a scheduled or 2-hour delivery, collecting items from one store

$6.99 for a scheduled or 2-hour delivery, collecting items from more than three stores

Extra $2.99 will be added with the rates said earlier for a 1-hour delivery

$1.99 will be added for after 8 pm and weekend delivery

$9.99 capped for up to five stores any day any time for 2-hour delivery

  1. For registered users, the service fee is different. MOeCART offers an annual membership by the name 'MOeCART Express' priced at $99. Users with this membership can get free delivery for a full 3 months with few terms and conditions (e.g., one delivery per week, etc.).
  2. MOeCART receives a 5% commission from the sellers for a sale less than $100, and 8% for more than $100
  3. Recruiting the shoppers - the registered users will provide some extra details than a customer (e.g., driver's license number), which the HR check and evaluate. If needed, the potential shopper can be interviewed - virtually or fac-2-face. Once recruited, proper training and induction are provided before they are ready to shop and deliver groceries. As delivery within 2 hours is challenging, preference can be given to the applicants who leave near to the stores MOeCART has tied-up or alliance. You may think of the details of this process.
  4. Wrong item Delivery possibilities- In case if a shopper picks up the wrong item and deliveries, MOeCART has a dedicated express support team, which customers can reach over the phone. They refund (or give credit) if the shopper misses an item in the order list.
  5. Out of stock items- Sometimes, items in the grocery shopping list may go out of stock, after placing an order. In such cases, shoppers replace the non-available items with similar, where available.
