Research by Bandura Self-Control Background You, as a child psychology expert, have been hired to teach successful parenting for good moral development to a group of parents who are concerned about the moral development of their children. Most of these parents have toddlers, who are about to become preschoolers. Methodology This exercise is an opportunity for you to review and consolidate the material that has been presented in Child Psychology. It addresses three key concepts of child behavior: Prosocial behavior, compliance, and self- control. Each of these is critical to the development of a competent, contributing member of our society. In completing the requirement, you should find solutions throughout the course. For each of the three desired outcomes, you should select the key factors that contribute to that outcome, the parental behavior that influences that key factor and the empirical support that is the basis for that conclusion. For each desired outcome you should have between 10 and 15 key factors and supporting parental behaviors. Your responses should be carefully thought-out, relevant to the desired outcome, and accurate. In a limited number of instances, the same key factor may reference more than one desired outcome. You may find video clips online that will guide you to the appropriate sections of your textbook. In the following table, you are provided with one example of key factors, parental support behavior, and empirical support for each of the three concepts to get you started/ Grading Grading This exercise will be graded on completeness (number of key factors listed) and accuracy (degree to which desired outcome, key factor, parental behavior and empirical support fit together). In a few cases, the same key factor may fit under more than one desired outcome. The results of this exercise are to be reported in the format shown not later than Aug 9, 11:59PM for credit. LATE PAPERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED Format Your completed response should be submitted in the format below, which has been partially completed to get you started. The empirical support need not be detailed. You may simply state: Piaget, Ainsworth, Instructor notes, etc. For maximum credit, each of the desired outcomes should have 10-15 key factors cited.
