A mental health program that exists today are non profit agencies that provide mental illness training and counseling to children, adults and families. I found one in my area called Well Stone. WellStonewas originally founded as the Huntsville - Madison County Mental Health Board in April 1969. The organization was a direct result of the Alabama Legislature passing Act 310, which authorized the formation of regional mental health boards across the state. The organization operated as the Mental Health Center of Madison County for over 25 years. In 2014, the organization rebranded as WellStone Behavioral Health to better reflect the breadth and depth of services provided to the community.
