Requirements Analysis
Main Street Plumbing has several employees in several departments. Each department has a unique department
name, unique department id, and a particular employee who manages the department.
Each employee is assigned to one department. For each employee, employee id, first and last name, birth date,
address, gender, and hire date is stored.
Employees can be hourly, salary, or support staff. Support staff are hired from a placement agency on an as
needed basic. For hourly employees, they store the hourly rate. For salary employees they store the salary and if
the employee has a stock option. Support staff are hired from different agencies. At any one time, the company
can have several people from different agencies. Support staff are hired based on a unique agency contract
number that determines the billing rate. Several support staff can be hired under one contract at any one time.
Likewise, several of the support staff could be hired under different contracts based on the billing rate. Each
agency is assigned a unique agency id. For each agency they store agency name, contact name, office number
and mobile number.
