Develope a pointing budget (also sometimes called an attitude budget):
Includes all the knowledge and control needs of your satellites position and attitude. It should include all of the avionics specifications that pertain to your attitude system as a whole. This budget should also encompass the error that you would expect to see when using the different components and algorithms to obtain your position and attitude. The relationship between true attitude, position, and sensor data cannot be ignored. The pointing budget should have the error of each unit as well as the total expected knowledge error that could be seen on orbit. Not only should the pointing budget account for knowledge error, but it should also account for control error as well (i.e. how well can the actuators orient the satellite into a certain attitude). The budget should show the expected knowledge and control error is less than the required position and attitude. FOR REFERNCE: Orientation of ADCS systems has the X-axis pointing up. Y to the right and z as shown:
CubeRod is a magnetorquer
CubeCoil works with the cube rods as the 3rd axis for torque
Mass Properties Inertia Tensor (Kg-m^2) TBD - you can make up an inertia tensor Weight TBD kg *Inertia Tensor needs to be updated to reflect current properties*
You can do this in excel or matlab or both. I just need help with getting a grasp on a pointing budget. you can make assumption on errors of sensors and equipment
