Dewey Do-good is a cost accountant for a defense contractor which contracts to build armored transportation vehicles for the US Army and US Marine Corp. Do-good recently discovered what he thought to be direct costs of work performed by the defense company for private sector clients but charged to the US govt. Upon further examination he thinks top level management is involved in altering source documents to cover up the alleged mischarges. Dewey thought of several possible courses of action he could take. One would be to discuss this with his boss, but he didnt know if she might be involved. Another course of action might be to anonymously release the information to the newspaper. A third course might be to send the information to members of the board of directors. Does Dewey Do-Good have a responsibility to take ethical action? What should Dewey do?
