Required:
a) State the amount of interest and business rentals that would be exempt from WHT.
b) Caculate the WHT payable by Dineo on the interest
c) Calculate the WHT payable on the business rentals
2. Indicate whether each of the following are capital expenditure or Revenue expenditure and clearly indicate whether it is included in the taxpayers Gross Income?
i. Tom Sold his furniture for P 15,000
ii. Sam an Employee at Botho University went for contract leave at UNISA from where he earned P30,000.
iii. Amanda disposed a Building held for speculative purpose for P850,000
iv. Amanda also disposed a building held for investment purpose.
v. Joshua sold his house for P500,000

3. The following are various types of receipts that can be obtained by taxpayers:
a. Refund by an employer to an employee for a medical bill paid by the employee
b. Dividends received from Botho Pty Ltd a resident company;
c. Proceeds from the sale of a building complex in Lobatse
