5.5 You are required to perform the following tasks:

1. Develop and implement health and safety related risk controls for at least two different items of plant according to the hierarchy of control measures, health and safety legislation and organisational policies and procedures.
2. Identify and manage licensing and training requirements associated with at least two different items of plant.

During the above, you must:

• manage the effective identification of hazards related to plant
• follow established protocols to communicate with others in the workplace to:
  • advise relevant personnel of their rights, obligations, and duties in relation to hazards and risk controls associated with plant
  • seek specialist advice as required

Provide a report on how you addressed the requirements of this project including how you:

• identified the health and safety hazards associated with the plant
• assessed the risks to health and safety posed by the plant
• controlled the risks associated with the maintenance and use of the plant
• advised on the registration, licensing and certification issues associated with the plant
• managed the training requirements for plant maintenance and operation

Your objective in this undertaking is to ensure that management is fully informed about the safety measures which must be taken from the time plant is commissioned, installed and operated, giving particular regard to legal requirements for the safe operation of the plant.
