Directions: Before filling in this template, be sure to review the assignment guidelines and rubric. Making sure that you have met all of the requirements. Step 1: Know Yourself The first step in planning your career is evaluating and understanding your aspirations, strengths, interests, drivers, and other influences. Begin by thinking about where you are now, where you want to be, and how you're going to get there. Once you have thought about where you are ow and where you want to be, you can work on getting to know your skills, interests, and values. Begin by asking yourself the following questions: 1. Where am I now? 2. Where do I want to be? 3. What do I want out of a job or career? 4. What do I like to do? 5. What are my strengths? 6. What is important to me? Step 2: Career Research & Exploration This step is about exploring the occupations and learning areas that interest you. Once you have some idea of your job preferences you can research the specific skills and qualifications required for those jobs. Explore jobs that interest you and ask yourself how do my skills and interests match up with these jobs? Where are the gaps? What options do I have to gain these skills or qualify for these jobs? What skills do I need? Where is the work? At the end of this step you will have a list of preferred jobs and/or learning options.
