The clinics costs about $1.3 million to operate and resulted in a loss of $275,000. The organization needs more revenue generating services. There are 4 in-house clinics (surgery, pediatrics, gynecology, and internal medicine). These clinics costs $250,000 a year and a loss of $75,000 was reported. There has been a 15% drop in clinic visits. The CEO wants the organization to be more competitive. Other facts you have uncovered: 1. Funding is needed for expansion of the neonatal ward, operating theater, MRI unit, and upgraded IT systems; 2. Without some of these projects, it is going to be hard to attract top talent; 3. There has been talk of getting ownership in services offered by private practices (for example, the MRI; 4. Cutting staff has been listed as an option to cut costs but could impact the quality of care; 5. There is a community perception that the care is lacking; 6. There could be backlash from the community and others if the clinics are closed and staff is cut; 7. A proposal has been made to drive the residents of these areas to the in-house clinics; 8. The number of prenatal visits have declined over the last 13 months. This service accounts for 60% of the clinics' business; 9.
