In this course (and perhaps previous courses you have taken), you learned about several theories that help to explain career choice and development. In this assessment, you will be expanding your knowledge on these theories and exploring other theories that may be new to you.

Select two of the career theories/theorists listed below to research.

• Holland's Theory of Vocational Choice
• Donald Super's Life and Career Development Stage Theory
• Gottfredson's Theory of Circumscription and Compromise
• John Krumboltz's Planned Happenstance Theory
• Frank Parsons's Trait and Factor Theory of Occupational Choice
• Theory of Work Adjustment
• Bandura's Social Cognitive Theory
• Roe's Theory of Personality Development and Career Choice
• Ginzberg's Theory of Career Development

Gather information Google Scholar. For each of your two selected theories you should find at least two scholarly sources, in addition to lecture material. with a full reference list, at the end of the essay.

Write a response to the questions below in a 500-750-word (3-5 paragraph) essay. This will be submitted as a Microsoft Word document. Make sure to use specific details/concepts from the theories to explain your answer to each of the following questions.

For each of your two chosen theories, please address the following in your own words:

• Summarize the theory and its main arguments.
• Apply the theory to your own career path and goals.
  • Detail how the theory would explain your selected career, the path you will take (and have taken already), etc.
  • Evaluate how understanding the theory will help you to further shape your own career goals and progression.
