Discovery tools (interrogatories,requests for production, depositions and requests for admission) are the building blocks of a civil case. Take a look at the discovery triangle attached to this lesson and explain why you think it makes sense to propound interrogatories first, then requests for production,then depositions and finally, requests for admission.

(now that you have your facts,

you are in the position to

ask the opposing party

to admit or deny these facts or documents.

Depositions

Ask questions about the facts of the case from the opposing party/witnesses

whose names you got in the answers to interrogatories (what they saw, what they said,

what they did with the contract, etc.)

Requests for Production

Ask for copies of the contract, photos or emails that you learned about from the interrogatories

Interrogatories

what are the names of the witnesses? Is there a written contract? Email or other documents? Are there photos of the scene? Ask questions so that you learn about all evidence & all possible witnesses
