- You will choose a market or mutual fund which you will monitor over the semester. Find a link you can return to:google.com/financehas many markets, including Dow Jones, S&P, Bitcoin, mutual funds, etc. Realize that long-term investments require years to see its trajectory, apart from up and down business cycles.
The Dow Jones Index is a stock market index that measures the stock performance of 30 large U.S. companies listed on stock exchanges. This can reflect how the industry is doing, at least for big companies like the ones it measures. The S&P 500 index measures 500 large U.S. companies and may reflect the economy differently (better?) than the Dow. NASDAQ composite measures more high-tech companies. So if one of these indices rises, it means the value of investors' shares have risen.
Discussion1-Markets: Announce which market/fund you will monitor, what investments it measures, and what itsindex/priceis currently. If in doubt, choose Dow Jones (DJIA), S&P, or NASDAQ. On Jan 8, DJIA-31079, S&P-3821, NASDAQ-13182 but will change daily, hourly. Also, comment on others' posts.
