Discuss Diversity and Leadership Instructions This week's reading considers the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. Professional spaces are becoming increasingly diverse as the world becomes more and more connected through technology and trends in the global marketplace--and employees are noticing. A recent Mckinsey (2021) research study revealed that 39% of job seekers were more likely to turn down a professional opportunity due to a perceived lack of inclusion within an organization. In addition, 47% of employees surveyed were more likely to stay with an organization and were seven times more likely to describe their organization as high performing if it was perceived as inclusive. In addition, 93% of companies surveyed think that organizations are moving toward more diverse talent pools as remote working continues to be a major trend. These statistics are important because they illustrate the shifting trends in both our expectations as employees and our responsibilities as leaders.
