Discuss the requisite skills a person needs to lead change for a chosen organization.
- I believe there are a number of requisite skills a person needs to lead change for a chosen organization. First they need to have leadership skills. That in itself can be a very dynamic trait. That requires flexibility, compassion, listening skills, among others. The ability to communicate effectively is going to be paramount to the success of the person leading change. Hearing and understanding the concerns of others while also being able to articulate the necessary steps in order to reach the goals effectively without appearing to take an authoritarian stance will really help smooth the process.
How can the organization's structure accommodate change?
- An organization can accommodate change by having a structure that promotes and implements a change management plan. The employees from top to bottom should understand the reasoning for the changes and how to effectively incorporate them into their activities. The corporate structure of the company needs to ensure there is a strong trickle down effect of information flow so that everyone feels included and on the same page. All too often change is presented in a "take it or leave it" fashion, and regardless of if the plan is good or not, many employees may feel slighted or excluded enough to actually leave it.
