Discussion # 2 Public Sector

Unions Tim Koval expresses the view of many experts that public sector unions are anti-democratic. In the link below please scan down to the sections: Collective Bargaining in the Public Sector Is Anti-Democratic and Collective Bargaining in the Public Sector Employs Political Rather than Economic Leverage. If private sector companies such as GMC, Verizon, Delta, etc. raise wages & benefits, they must cover the increased costs by increasing prices, eliminating services or product lines, decreasing quality, or going bankrupt. In the public sector often increased costs are passed on to the taxpayer with very little voice. Do you agree with any of Koval's arguments? If yes which one(s) or if not why?
